I tried to do the pull-ups at Assist level 4 by accident, still beyond me... I definitely tried a set though! I was pretty sore from that.

So I skipped my Friday workout due to studying for a midterm... But I'm back on track this week and added some weights! Although, I haven't had anything to eat all day... I should also look into cutting my portions, I eat way too much at once.

I've been cooking for myself for a couple months now and here's some of what I've made.

Tonight's dinner:

Pork chop with mustard sauce on spaghettini. This one went pretty well. The taste was a bit different than what I usually have, but still was quite good.

Past meals:

Salad I made last night, has lettuce, red onions, carrots and tomato with balsamic vinaigrette for dressing. I'm a bit of an idiot, so I didn't remember to run the onions under water when I was cutting them. The onions were so strong and totally killed me last night haha.

Asparagus with a lemon juice, salt, pepper, olive oil mixture and bacon paired with steamed white rice. I definitely should have left the bacon out, but it was about to go bad and I had to use it all for something...

I didn't make this, but it was sooo good. I think it's some sort of Vietnamese pudding.

Steak with onions and mushrooms in marsala sauce on steamed white rice. Definitely enjoyed this one. I originally started with chicken marsala and decided I'd rather not have chicken 4 times in a week so I got some steak instead.

Instant noodles with an egg cracked into the soup with romaine lettuce and bacon.

Stirfry cabbage with egg and bacon with rice. I certainly learned something about cooking on my first try, as you might be able to tell from all the black parts in the first picture haha.

Hotdogs and fried egg. Nothing special, I did learn about the stove that day though... Dual element really cooks fast, burnt my eggs a bit.

Pasta with tomato sauce and sausage. Also a mixed salad with italian dressing and sausage.

Day 7

The weather was real crappy today, wind, rain and all. However, on my way to the gym I met up with one of my friends that I hadn't talked to in a couple of weeks. Turns out he's been sick at home for 2 weeks, pretty bad. But, he ended up working out with me and plans to start going regularly as well! Looks like I've found a partner as I'd hoped for!

Deadlift: 1 set x 5 reps at 185 lbs
Bench Press: 3 sets x 5 reps at 135 lbs

I'm starting to think that I might have to move Cardio to a separate day. Lately, when I run after my workout I get leg cramps so it'd probably be better if I just left it for a day on its own.

Due to Thanksgiving weekend, I didn't end up going on Monday. The weather was totally crappy today, raining and all. Still, I made it and did my workout. Also found out that they have volleyball intramurals, hopefully I can sign up for the next one in January!

I've replaced a bunch of barbell exercises with the dumbbell version cause it felt like I was doing the barbell versions wrong. I'll probably start adding weight next week!

Yesterday, I was thinking whether I'd actually go to the gym today since I was feeling really sore. Surprisingly, I was feeling a lot better than I'd expected so I went for it. It was a pretty good workout and there weren't too many people so I got to do everything I wanted.

Starting Anew

So I'm going to try and give blogging another try in this age of twitter and facebook. Hopefully, I'll prove to myself that I can keep a schedule. In the past, I haven't even been able to take my medicine on time and ended up not taking it at all.

It's been a hectic couple of months. Due to some family circumstances, I took my 2nd year of university part time and worked full time instead. So June's approaching and I totally hate my job (night shifts at Tim Hortons). I get the great idea that I'll quit first and find a job later, because the grocery store near my house is always hiring. Big mistake. Due to some petty argument with my dad, he ends up kicking me out of the house around the end of June. He tells me I have until he gets back to leave the house, so I call up some friends and ask if they can help me move my stuff out. About an hour or two later, I'm packed up and ready to go. But where am I supposed to go? My best friend since grade 5 says I can stay at his place at least for the night. After some negotiation, it's agreed that I can stay at my friend's place for July and hopefully find a job during that time. Well, we all know what happens when you stay with a friend and you're both free most of the time, especially in the summer.

A beach trip and many other outings later, August is approaching fast. Obviously, I didn't find a job (To be fair, I did look and submit apps for a week, but in July the chances were pretty slim). The end of July has arrived and my friend's parents are gone for the long weekend. I'm pretty much packed up and have everything loaded into the van. As I'm about to leave, he asks me if I can stay for dinner since he's already making it. Of course, I can't refuse the request. We end up making some delicious risotto with portobello mushrooms, pork chops and steak. We had plum wine and cheap chardonnay to go with the meal. After we'd finished eating, we'd had a bit to drink and decided it'd be nice to get some friends together to drink a bit more. After a trip to the convenience store for some chases and mixes, friends were over and we were set for a good time. And what a good time it was. Played lots of drinking games, had fun talks and best of all, no hangover! And so ends my time living at a friend's house for a month. Next stop, grandparents' apartment.

Browsing Nico Nico Douga's instrumental performance section when I find this guy. I like his video editing cause it makes the video more interesting, especially the waving to change. He has 3 different states, shirt on, shirt off, and tube! Caught me off guard the first time. Interesting use of pots

So I was on my way to Doppel Forest 1 with my friend, after getting decimated in the 45+ zone, and stumbled upon this Tichiel (Character with the Penguin Backpack) writing a little message with pots! I'm not really sure what it says, the first character is somewhat hard to make out. The credit goes to the user: スコア of Japanese Talesweaver, Anomarad Server. It's nothing amazing, but the Tichiel did put a lot of effort into it, having to redo some parts. Following the completion, I promptly got slaughtered in the next room by another Maximin... but that's not important.
